I know you continue to work hard as a frontline essential worker who makes Minnesota work. Your safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. As the omicron variant begins to surge through our communities, below are some resources you can turn to as union members to assist you and your family through these uncertain times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past few months, our union has also bargained significant wage increases into the new contracts that provide tremendous union value that you deserve. Some employers have negotiated with the union in existing contracts letters of understanding, which increases wages to the current wage scales. If you have specific questions about your contract, please contact your union representative at your shop. Your union representative\u2019s name is posted on your union bulletin board or can be found on our website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Online Resources for Workers During COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is a list of useful websites that you and your family may find helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fight for Frontline Worker Pay at Legislature <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Wednesday, Oct 27, 2021 was the last of 13 meetings of the Frontline Worker Pay Working Group. Many UFCW Local 663 members from grocery, meatpacking, and healthcare testified throughout the summer to urge the working group to include all essential workers. However, a compromise was not reached and the distribution of the $250 million that was set aside for Minnesota\u2019s frontline workers was unresolved in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It will be taken up again during the next legislative session in January 2022. Our Union will continue to advocate for the inclusion of our members and all frontline workers who could not work from home and for an increased payout of $1500 per worker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We again will need testimony from our members to show how covid-19 has affected you.
