{"id":2578,"date":"2022-03-19T07:07:06","date_gmt":"2022-03-19T12:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ufcw663.org\/blog\/?p=2578"},"modified":"2022-03-21T13:15:19","modified_gmt":"2022-03-21T18:15:19","slug":"bagger-ufcw-663","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ufcw663.org\/blog\/2022\/03\/19\/bagger-ufcw-663\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Bagger Awards: Justin &#8220;Juice&#8221; Marshall among nation&#8217;s best"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Monday, February 28, 2022, UFCW Local 663 member Justin (aka \u201cJuice\u201d) Marshall competed and won 3<sup>rd<\/sup> runner-up and $1,000 in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgrocers.org\/special-programs\/nga-best-bagger-championship\/\">National Grocers Association <\/a>(NGA) Best Bagger Championship held at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas, Nevada. Justin, who is better known by his coworkers and friends by the nickname \u201cJuice\u201d, works at the Lyndale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufcw663.org\/member-benefits\/contracts\">Kowalski\u2019s Market <\/a>in South Minneapolis and has been a stakeholder (employee) with the company for the past 16 1\/2 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Justin competed in the NGA State Best Bagger Championship in 2015 in which he came in 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place and then last year in 2021 when he won 1<sup>st<\/sup> place. This assured him an invitation to compete against the best of the best from several other states in the 2022 NGA National Best Bagger Championship. Leading up to the National Championship, Justin trained for about 6 weeks with another Kowalski\u2019s stakeholder, Justin Kizilos who himself had won 1<sup>st<\/sup> place at the NGA State Best Bagger competition in 2020 and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place at the NGA National Best Bagger Championship in 2021. Having Justin to train and advise him over that 6-week period leading up to the National Championship proved to be extremely helpful in preparation of the competition he faced in Las Vegas. This training led to his best bagging training record of properly filling 3 bags with 38 items in 41 seconds!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justin would like to thank everyone who made the trip out to the National Championship for their support and encouragement and for all the support and encouragement he received from fellow stakeholders who were unable to make the trip but were there with him in spirit.
