We have each other\u2019s backs. Family connects. And despite the challenges of distance, time or differences, we help each other and share.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To connect our 17,000 retail, food processing, manufacturing, healthcare and other members who live hundreds of miles apart from each other across Minnesota, our Union is implementing new tools for communication and solidarity. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufcw663.org\/meeting\">Membership meetings<\/a> will rotate between the metro, Austin and Worthington. All members will continue to be able to join meetings remotely. We are also building Communication Action Teams to share information about Union benefits and protections, rights at work, negotiations and organizing to build worker power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a busy year ahead with negotiations! Our goals are to ensure workers are respected, protected and paid. Negotiations for 9,000 retail members kicks off January 9th in the metro, then food coops and Brainerd Lakes. This spring we begin negotiations for 2,000 food processing and manufacturing members followed by a few hundred healthcare members late in the year.<em> All<\/em> are essential workers who make significant sacrifices to ensure our state runs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of us &#8211; from members to staff to elected officers &#8211; have a role in winning for workers. If you are already a Union steward or member of our Communication Action Teams, please recruit someone else to join. If you are interested in becoming more active in our Union, connect with your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufcw663.org\/member-benefits\/whos-my-rep\">union representative<\/a> for your worksite. We achieve more together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a privilege to serve as President at UFCW Local 663.
