This week, UFCW 663 members at Seward Co-op came together and reached a fair agreement with their employer in just 4 bargaining sessions. Management listened to workers, negotiated in good faith, and worked collaboratively with members to reach an agreement that meets workers’ needs.

“The lower-cost healthcare options mean a lot to me,” said Jasper Blundred, a UFCW 663 member at Seward Co-op. “I’ve had to go without care because of rising healthcare costs. This contract gives me the financial security to get the care I need.”
This agreement includes lower-cost healthcare options, annual $.75 raises in addition to the $.50 wage increases workers receive on the anniversary of their hire dates, and more flexibility to use their PTO when they need it most.

“When employers genuinely listen to workers, bargaining can be quick, productive, and respectful,” said Rena Wong, President of UFCW 663. “I’m proud of our members for winning what they need, and I appreciate Seward Co-op having thoughtful conversations with members, engaging in good-faith negotiations, and working collaboratively toward a fair agreement.”
“I am incredibly pleased to announce we ratified our fourth collective bargaining agreement. Thanks to all bargaining unit members and management staff who worked together to balance the needs of bargaining unit staff along with the operational and financial sustainability of the co-op.” – Ray Williams, CEO, Seward Co-op.
