FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brooklyn Center, MN–Statement from UFCW Local 663 President Matt Utecht on Governor Walz’s expanded COVID-19 vaccine access announcement today:

“Minnesota essential workers on the front lines in grocery stores, meatpacking plants, and food processing facilities continue to face the daily risk of COVID-19 exposure. Every day of the pandemic, these brave workers have put their own health at risk to feed Minnesota families.

“Today’s announcement by Governor Walz is a strong step to ensure that these brave Minnesota essential workers have the vaccine access they need to stay safe as they continue to serve our communities and keep our food supply secure.

“Vaccine access for Minnesota essential workers is a critical line of defense when it comes to protecting the health and safety of our communities.”
