The UFCW Local 663 executive board mourns the loss of life in Israel and Palestine. We express our solidarity with all workers for the right to live peacefully, with dignity and respect.
Palestinian and Israeli civilian populations must be protected. We hope for a humanitarian ceasefire, that all parties comply with their obligations under international law to protect civilians, the release of all hostages and that all parties work to ensure humanitarian access.
The world community and all parties involved must commit to negotiating a permanent, just resolution to this conflict which will enable Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and build a future. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and any religious discrimination must be rejected in all forms as we come together to support survivors, families, and communities.
