LOCAL 663 OFFICER NOMINATION AND ELECTION NOTICE

NOMINATIONS

The current terms of office for the positions of Local 663 Secretary-Treasurer, Recorder and twenty (20) Vice-Presidents will expire on August 31, 2023, and Local 663 will conduct a nominations meeting at the date, time, and place indicated below. Nominations for Secretary-Treasurer, Recorder and the twenty (20) Vice-President positions will be accepted from the floor of the meeting, as well as virtually by members who choose to attend remotely. The term of office for Secretary-Treasurer, Recorder and Vice-President is three (3) years commencing on September 1, 2023.

1. Any active member in good standing is eligible to nominate candidates and run for office. Candidates must accept their nomination at the nomination meeting. The nomination acceptance may be verbal (either from the meeting or via phone confirmation) or, if not in attendance, by submitting a written acceptance to Election Chair James Westin at 266 Hardman Ave N, South St Paul, MN 55075, jwestin@ufcw1189.org, or 612-559-4411 no later than one (1) week after the nominations meeting.

ELECTION

Any positions which are not contested shall be deemed elected by acclamation pursuant to Article XII, Section L of the UFCW Local 663 Bylaws.

If any positions are contested, an election of Local 663 officers for the contested position(s) will be conducted at the date, time, and polling places indicated below.

As provided by the UFCW Local 663 Bylaws, any active member in good standing will be eligible to vote in the officer election. Active members who attend the election will receive a ballot and have an opportunity to cast the ballot in secrecy. Write-in candidates and proxy voting shall not be permitted.
