Summary of Proposed Bylaws Changes:

  • General clean up to comply with UFCW International constitution.
  • Composition of executive board to ensure representation in all geographies and industries (and no reduction in current size of board - if we do not vote to authorize this change we will go from 20 to 16 eboard members through attrition starting in 2026)
  • Realignment of the terms of office so that starting in 2027 only 1 election every 3 years (currently 2 elections every 3 years - as we all know elections are expensive)
  • Nominations process that requires candidates to get minimal showing of support to be on the ballot, similar to local and federal elections where candidates need signatures (the proposed bylaws change means UFCW 663 candidates will need 1% of membership, approximately 140 signatures to be on the ballot)

Voting was from 8am on Wednesday, August 6 until 8pm on Thursday, August 7

Zoom Info Meetings were on Friday, August 1 at 9am & 7pm
